THE PIECE THAT STARTED IT

From a Cardboard Box to a Coffee Table

A client arrived with a shoebox of festival wristbands. Years of summers, different venues, different people, each band a small piece of a bigger story. She did not want them in a drawer. She wanted them somewhere she could see them every day.

I set each wristband into a clear epoxy resin coffee table top, arranged exactly as she presented them to me. The finished piece sits in her living room. Every friend who visits asks about it.

This is what memorial commissions do. They make the intangible permanent.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before You Enquire

What objects can be preserved in resin?

Almost anything that can be dried or sealed first. Common requests include wedding and anniversary flowers, festival wristbands, concert tickets, holiday memorabilia, photographs, pressed leaves, fabric samples, and personal jewellery. If you have something specific in mind, mention it in your commission brief and I will confirm whether it is possible.

How long does a commission take?

Most pieces take between two and six weeks from confirmation, depending on complexity and the resin curing schedule. I provide a timeline estimate before any work begins. If you have a deadline, include it in your brief and I will confirm whether it is achievable.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. I ship commissions to the US, Europe, Australia, and beyond. Shipping is calculated based on the size and destination of your piece and is included in your quote. The US is one of my most frequent international destinations.

Will I see progress photos during the commission?

Yes. I send photos at key stages during the making of your piece. For larger commissions, I share images before the final dispatch so you can confirm everything is right before it ships.

What sizes do you work in?

I work in any size. Wall art typically ranges from smaller statement pieces up to large-scale installation commissions. Coffee tables and functional pieces are built to the dimensions you specify. If you are unsure of the right size for your space, describe the wall or surface in your brief and I can suggest options.

Can I commission something based on a piece in your portfolio?

Yes. Link to it or describe it in your brief. I can work in the style, colour palette, or technique of any piece I have made, adapted to your space and specifications. No two pieces are ever identical, but I can get very close to a reference.

I have items I want preserved but I am not sure if it is possible. Should I still enquire?

Yes, always. Unusual requests are often the most interesting ones. Describe the items and what you are imagining in your brief, and I will let you know what is possible and how I would approach it.
